  18. <p>     A hailstorm this month nearly ruined the peaches on her
  19. family farm in South Carolina, but that didn't dent Dori
  20. Sanders' good spirits. A newly published author, she's enjoying
  21. the fruits of success. Disney has optioned Clover, her tale of
  22. a 10-year-old girl in today's South. From sunup to sundown,
  23. Sanders, 55, still works the land because "once the dirt gets
  24. under your fingernails, you can't give it up." And when she's
  25. in the orchard and gets an idea for her next book, she jots it
  26. down on whatever's handy--a scrap of paper or even the side
  27. of a peach basket.
